About us
The Lodz Film School Intensive Workshops is an international programme of intensive workshops and masterclasses dedicated to contemporary film, animation, cinematography, and emerging audiovisual practices.
Designed for film students, graduates, and emerging creators the workshops combine artistic mentorship, practical production experience, critical reflection, and collaborative experimentation within the professional environment of one of Europe’s most renowned film schools – a place historically connected with generations of influential filmmakers, cinematographers, and visual artists.
The programme is built around small working groups allowing participants to develop projects through direct collaboration with tutors and peers. They work in professional production conditions — including film studios and specialized film equipment — while exploring directing, cinematography, animation development, visual storytelling, and contemporary forms of cinematic expression. Mentorship and direct feedback is provided by internationally recognized active film professionals.
The Lodz Film School Intensive Workshops create a space where artistic research, film practice, and experimentation intersect: from scene-based directing laboratories and cinematography masterclasses to the development of original animated films and hybrid audiovisual forms. The Summer Workshops focus on authorship, artistic individuality, cinematic language, and hands-on creative practice – the core of Lodz Film School teaching philosophy.
